Santa Claus makes trips to Blacksburg a little early this year, to get some love from hometown pets.
Virginia Tech veterinary college gives pet owners a chance to bring their pets out for a photo with Santa. They were greeted by many people of tail-flick, Kiss and snoring.
Pets of all kinds were allowed to take part in the fun. Organizers say Santa has been seen all over the years. "Last year, we have about 7 Ferret and 3 birds, all on Santa's lap at a time," said Derek O'Dell, President of Omega Tau Sigma Fraternity animals. "It's a bit to try and keep them together and all looking in the right direction!"
This event also serves as a fundraiser for O'Dell's brotherhood. The organization also contributed to some of the results of today's local nonprofit. This year will benefit St Francis dog service, based in Roanoke. The event usually increases O'Dell says between $ 500 and $ 1,000.
